“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit orphans and widows in their afflictions, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.” -James 1:27 MKJV
At times, we find ourselves having been given the chance to minister to the needs of those who are lost, physically or spiritually afflicted, alone, or uncared for. In this instances, we should witness to them, ministering to them in the Love of Christ; however, always keep your focus on God so that the world you enter into (or re-enter) for the sake of the Kingdom will not leave you spotted with its corruption or affliction.
Thoughts to Ponder: How many times has God sent someone to minister to our needs or witness to us when we needed to hear Him, but couldn’t? Be that vessel, being careful to remain undefiled and staying aware of the devil’s devices.
Prayer: Father God, please direct our paths through Your unfailing Love and order our steps according to Your perfect will. Lord, many times we cross paths with the lost and the afflicted; help us to be wise in our dealings with those who need You. Help us to not hinder them, but uplift them. Thank You for Your grace, Lord, and Your forgiveness. Father, thank You for this day as it is a gift from You that some did not receive. Deliver us from that which binds us or comes between us and Your purpose for us.
In Jesus’ name, Amen!
