Then God said, “Let us make humans in our image, in our likeness. Let them rule the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the domestic animals all over the earth, and all the animals that crawl on the earth.” -Gen 1:26
We were created not only in God’s image, but also in His likeness! When God spoke, He spoke life out of Himself. Even though we are convinced that we were created in both His image and His likeness many of us fail to realize that when we speak, it is with weak sentiment, lacking any power from the Spirit which God placed within us. Often, we speak words that support our current situation rather than speaking words that manifest change. In essence, we are speaking death into an already dead situation despite the fact that we have the power of the Holy Spirit to speak HEALING and DELIVERING change into our lives, whether it be physical, emotional, spiritual, financial, occupational, etc.
The problem that so many of us face with living and walking in our faith and the power God places within us as a result of our faith is that instead of living from the inside out as God does and designed us to do, we have been deceived by the devil and conditioned by the world to live from the outside in. What this means is that rather than dictating to our lives how they are going to be and projecting our spirits into the world around us, we allow ourselves and our perception to be shaped and aligned by what goes on in the lives, environment, and atmosphere surrounding us. We invite the world inside our hearts instead of demanding the world to be influenced by our hearts.
In order to truly make the most of the spiritual potential that we have, we have to fully use not only the gifts God has given us but also the resources that He has made available. Just because you don’t see things in the natural doesn’t mean they don’t exist in the spiritual. All you have to do is speak a word of change; speak of word of peace; speak a word of LIFE and things begin to move in the spirit all around you. Many people waste precious time avoiding their purpose simply because they do not believe they have the tools to press on. John 16:24 says, “So far you haven’t asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive so that you can be completely happy.” God requires us to ask, believe, and step out on faith, trusting Him to provide what we have asked. If we allow the world to condition our system of belief, we will always live from the outside in and will never see the abundance of a life lived in God’s likeness, from the inside out. Do you live in God’s likeness?
