Prayer Blanket: Focusing on God and Praying for Others

Lord God I come before You this morning seeking Your face and asking for guidance from the Holy Spirit. So often I find myself walking away from my commitments because I feel I don’t have the strength to persevere. There are so many things I want to do, but only one me. I have allowed myself to become overwhelmed in many ways, accepting more than I can handle and in turn making all areas of my life suffer. I can feel it in my entire life when my time with you takes a nosedive… when I let other things cloud my focus and preoccupy my time. Father please forgive me for not giving my all to my purpose in You - to turning away from where You are taking me in my selfish pursuance of my own desires.

Thank You for being a loving God and for providing for me and protecting me in spite of my imperfection. Lord, I thank You for choosing me to be a part of this day… I am so grateful for an unfinished purpose – for a reason to be in Your grace. So many are hurting today and I ask that You comfort them. My needs, you secure… my burdens, You carry… my pains, You take away… from my troubles, You rescue me. I ask not for myself today, but for all my brothers and sisters who are not yet sure they can lean on You. I pray that You lift them into Your arms and show them how amazing You love is. I stand before your throne in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Prayer Blanket: Starting Back At One

Posted by Kathleen Robertson at 2 February, 2010, 2:52 pm

Father God, as the weeks pass by I keep looking up and realizing that I haven’t been the servant I promised I would be. I keep committing myself to follow in Christ’s footsteps with the best intentions but along the way, the business of life interferes and I allow everything else to overshadow my focus on Your Word. Lord God, I believe the hardest part of getting back on track is knowing that I have to start over again. I have to repent. I have to be forgiven and I have to start anew… but anew means at the beginning, and it’s disappointing to be starting back at one after all this time.

We all have our faults, whether small or large and I don’t believe that I am doing myself any favors by buying into society’s views that my flaws are insignificant. Father please forgive me for ignoring the conviction of the Spirit and comparing my sins to those of others. We are all on different levels of our walk and I cannot scale my transgressions by measuring the faults of those who are still finding You. I thank You for placing within me the assignment of a leader and I fall on my face before Your feet, asking forgiveness for putting that call on hold - for placing my own ambitions ahead of Your plan for me.

I thank You for everyone You’ve placed in my life, Father God… for every experience, for every test and every trial – the ones that hurt, the ones that taught – because each hardship has only made me seek Your face more adamantly than before. Thank You for loving me in spite of myself and for continuing to be patient with me. Father God, please help me to mirror the behavior of Jesus more wholly than I have – to forgive, to lead, to love, and to listen. Lord, my wish is to walk in Your Will completely, with compassion and understanding. In the name of Jesus, I stand before Your throne in prayer. Amen.

Happy New Year!

Father God, I thank You for allowing me to see this day. Not only a new day, but the symbolism of a fresh start in a new year. Lord, I may not have lived up to my own expectations last year, or even yesterday but my life is not about me – it is about You. I live to be pleasing in Your sight. As I go about my days from this point forward, Lord, I ask that the Holy Spirit continue residing in my heart… convicting me of my wrongs and assisting me in building within myself a Kingdom mentality.

Each day is an opportunity for a new beginning. Today, as I see my way into the start of 2010 I submit myself unto You. My prayer is for Your will to come to pass in my life… there is no wish I could have that could compare to the good things You’ve planned for me. I thank You for the Love… the grace… the favor… and the mercy You’ve shown me. Please forgive me for my actions that have disappointed You and for the ways I fall short of being deserving of Your presence.

I thank You with all my heart… with all my life… and I will praise You with every breath for the rest of this year, and all the years in which it is Your will to include me. I come before Your throne praying in the name of Jesus for Your preciously perfect will to be done.

Amen.

Prayer: Back To Basics

Posted by Kathleen Robertson at 24 July, 2009, 8:55 am

Father God, today I was forced to realize that I many times begin my days without consulting with You; without speaking to You about Your plan for my day… without considering Your purpose for my time… and I go about my day wondering why it’s so chaotic or why I am not accomplishing much of anything… but now I recognize that when You are missing from my focus, then You are also missing from my help. Lord God, I come to You this morning praising Your name … thanking You for continuing to work on me and incessantly motivating me to be better than I am. I give You reverence, Lord God; I lift Your name as I am in constant awe of Your glory and of the power You so flawlessly establish over my life just by a simple Word.

Father God, today I am admitting that I have a need for You that I have ignored lately and I am committing to getting back to basics and not trying to do so much to the point that my doing interferes with my praising and more importantly, my praying. It’s so easy to get wrapped up in my own ambition, but Father God, I know that I am nothing without You and I know that Your plans are higher than my plans because Your thoughts are higher than my thoughts. There is no excuse for looking up and finding myself estranged from you because of my own business – or even because of Your business. My first priority should always be my relationship with You; my second priority should be to serve You and represent You by example… all else should fall in place from there! I thank You so much for the revelation that Your spirit has opened my eyes to and I pray that You continue to convict me of my shortcomings and my wrongs. I can never be perfect, Lord God, but I can be obedient… and I can be disciplined.

Father, please help me to remember to pray without ceasing; to get back into the habit of standing in the gap for my brothers and sisters – to lift others in prayer. Father, You know our needs before we are even able to recognize them as needs and I pray that Your healing hands touch those who are in need of physical restoration; I pray that Your hands of provision touch those who are in need of financial blessing; I pray that Your comforting hands touch those who are hurting… that Your hands of peace touch the minds of those who are suffering with anxiety, confusion, and inner turmoil. I pray that Your hands of deliverance touch those who are afflicted, addicted, and bound. Father God, be with Your children as they are tested and tried… lead them out of the fire and help them to weather the storms. I pray these things in the precious and perfect name of Jesus Christ… Amen.

Friday Morning Prayer Blanket (5/29/09)

Lord, I come to You humbly and in awe of Your glory. Your Will in its perfection is all I seek. I am leaning on Your promise of provision for my heart’s desire as I delight in You. Lord, life brings so many troubles and struggles and in facing them, I give thanks to You, knowing that You have already delivered me. Through the darkness, I am constantly reminded of how precious Your light is; through my need, I am reminded of how abundantly You provide.

Lord God, I ask that You go before me this day and every day… that I may walk with Your favor and that Your Holy Spirit may guide my steps. Lord I ask You to forgive me as I make mistakes and convict my spirit so that I am able to recognize my wrongs – no matter how small – and repent because You deserve so much more from me than even my best! Thank You for seeing through my faults and into my needs – for healing my body, renewing my mind, and cleansing my spirit daily. Please keep watch over me and protect my home and my family in Jesus’ name… Amen!

Tuesday Morning Prayer Blanket 5/5/09

This morning, Father, I come to You humbly seeking Your face. The more I evaluate myself, I realize how little concentration I have put into submitting to Your will as I have focused so much of my energy on my own plan. I ask today, Lord, that You forgive me for placing my desires at a higher level of priority in my life than glorifying You. Father God please continue raining Your provision in my life… I know that it is by You that I receive my help, and I thank You for every wonderful blessing You have allowed in my life! Holy Father, please forgive me for all of the sins I have committed against You…

There are so many characteristics that divide Your children, Lord, and I pray that if I possess any of them that You will cleanse my heart and renew my spirit … remove from me anything that breeds sin in my life; things like greed, suspicion, backbiting, spite, gossip, lies, jealousy, vindictiveness, anger, lust, harboring grudges, and pride – all of these things create the potential for Satan to tempt us into sin in numerous ways. Search my heart, Lord, and convict me where You find bad motives or lack of compassion. You have filled my life with LOVE, Father! Please help me to share that precious gift with those who need You. Also, Lord, through the power of Your Holy Spirit, please keep me reminded of the forgiveness I must afford others if I am to expect to be forgiven by You.

You see through my faults and recognize my needs. I thank You for making a way when I am unable because in ALL things, Father God, You are able! As long as there is breath in my body, I will praise Your name and testify to Your magnificence! Deliver me from my circumstances, as You always have in perfect timing. My faith is not in my strength, but in Your mercy! All of these things I pray in the precious and perfect name of Jesus, AMEN!

Sunday Morning Prayer Blanket 4/26/09

Lord I come to You seeking refuge and giving reverence to Your Holy name. In all that I see daily, I notice Your power at work all around me. As the wind blows, as the clouds sail across the sky, as the sun gently kisses my skin, I am reminded of Your omnipresence! You are in all of creation – how awesome and amazing. Father God, I come to You not asking for anything because You provide for me so abundantly and although I do have needs, I just want to praise Your name and thank You for the unconditional love You’ve shown me and the forgiveness that has come from that love.

What a blessing to know that You loved and sacrificed for me when I didn’t even accept You. I have so many times been blessed, undeservingly so! I ask only that Your spirit continues to convict me, cleanse my heart, and use me as a vessel for Your will. Lord, please protect me from both seen and unseen dangers and speak to me so that I may hear Your voice and know Your Plan. I will be patient and wait on you to answer when I call on You, thanking You in advance and knowing in faith that You are always on time. Reveal my purpose, Lord, as You see it necessary and whenever You lead, I will surely follow.

Father God, I often fall short of Your magnificent glory and I fall at Your throne asking forgiveness of my trespasses against You as I humbly forgive those who do wrong against me. In the preciously perfect name of Jesus, I pray… Amen!

Almighty God, I humbly kneel before Your throne praising You in advance for Your delivering power and for the abundance of provision brought forth by Your hand. Lord, please help me to maintain a humble and generous spirit. Despite what my own needs are, Father, I pray that Your Holy Spirit keeps me reminded of the needs of others which exceed my own.

I ask that I am able to recognize when I have more than I am in need of, and that You place people in my path who are in need of what I am able to give. Likewise, Father, I ask that You do the same for my unmet needs, making a way when I see none available as You always have done. I thank You for Your grace, mercy, and love even as I am undeserving! In the name of Jesus, I pray… Amen.

Father God, today I stand before You standing in the gap on behalf of the masses. Lord, so much can happen in the course of a day. We can go from top to bottom and likewise from bottom to top. We can go from health to sickness or from sick to healthy.

Lord, it is by Your grace that we are where we are and by Your mercy that we will be delivered from afflictions. It is by Your comfort we reach peace after enduring pain and by Your love that we are forgiven for the pain we’ve caused others. It is by faith we are made whole and by acceptance of Your Spirit that we are complete.

I thank You for the many blessings You’ve done unto me and for all that is yet to come. I give You glory for protecting me even from unseen dangers, Father God. In Jesus’ perfect name, Amen!

Sunday Morning Prayer Blanket 4/19/09

Father God, I come to You humbly and lovingly. I kneel before Your throne asking for comfort, peace, and healing. Lord God, in life we experience so many things. I thank You for all that comes to pass, both the good and the bad… because Your Word tells me that You will take what is meant for my destruction and work it out in my favor. Lord, I know that as long as I look to You, I will never know the feeling of being alone in my troubles. I will never have to fight battles on my own.

Lord, I am prayerful that You will touch the hearts of those who come against me; that You will be my defender and help me to be patient and understanding when I am confused. I pray that You continue to allow situations in my life to prepare me for the great purpose You’ve assigned to me. It’s not easy to go through the things that build us in faith, character, and spirit but it’s necessary. I praise Your name for loving me enough to not only want more from me but to give me everything I need to make more out of myself for Your glory. I exalt You, Father God, as I am tested in my strength, patience, faith, compassion, understanding, and love. I am healed as I am tested in my ability to forgive.

Father God, You and You alone know the outcomes of our encounters and I know that no matter what may come, as long as I delight in You, You will give me the desires of my heart. I know that in submitting to You, You will make the righteousness of my cause shine like the noonday sun and I will stand on Your Word, trusting in Your provision in Jesus’ name. Amen.
