A. The stories in the Bible really happened!
Some of the events seem amazing to us because they are MIRACLES,
but they still happened. We know that the stories are true
because the Bible is God's Word, and God wouldn't lie to us or
try to fool us. The Bible also says that every word in it is
true. Some people don't believe it because they don't think
miracles can happen. Others don't believe it because they don't
want to learn about God and do what He tells them to do, but we
know that God can do anything and He's the best one to tell us
how to live. We should pray for all the people who don't believe
the Bible or who think it is just full of fairy tales.
BIBLE VERSE: "All these things happened to
them as examples to us. They warn us not to do the same things.
They were written so we could learn from them as the world nears
its end." (1 Corinthians 10:11)
If you want to learn more about what the Bible
says about its truth, get your parents to read these verses with
you: Luke 1:1-4; John 20:29; John 21:24-25; and 1 John 1:1-4!
A. Eve disobeyed God because Satan deceived
her. When someone is deceived, that means that the
devil used tricks and lies to make her believe something that
wasn't true. Since she was tricked by the devil, she thought
that God had lied to her, but God would never do that! God had
said that Adam and Eve would die if they ate from the Tree of
the Knowledge, but Satan said they wouldn't. Eve believed him
when the devil told her that eating the fruit would do good
things for her and it would make her like God. When someone
tells you to do something you know is bad and makes it sound
like the right thing to do, that is called temptation.
The devil still tricks people today, but we have to be smart and
know what the REAL right thing is! Even though Eve sinned, and
even though we sin, God sent Jesus into the world so we could
still be in God's family and God will forgive us.
BIBLE VERSE: "For you are the children of your
father the devil. You love to do the evil things he does. He was
a murderer from the beginning. There was no truth in him. When
he lies, it is perfectly normal. For he is the father of lies."
(John 8:44)
That verse means that if you like to do bad
things, then you aren't in God's family but you are in the
devil's family. We don't want to be in the devil's family so we
have to try to always do the right thing!
If you want to learn more about what the Bible
says about the devil tricking people and about sin, get your
parents to read these verses with you: Genesis 2:16-17; Genesis
3:1-5; Matthew 6:13; Matthew 26:41; and 2 Corinthians 2:11!
